OneDL extension privacy policy

Purpose and user choices
OneDL helps you save public X, Instagram and TikTok videos you own or have permission to download. Clicking the toolbar or selecting a link from the right-click menu opens the extension and prefills that link. It does not submit the link automatically. You can edit it before selecting Find my video.
Information handled
The extension handles the single post URL you choose, video titles, available quality information, thumbnails, temporary file links and the status of downloads it initiates. It uses Chrome’s interface language to choose a bundled translation. This information is used only to provide the requested download. It stays in the open extension tab’s memory and is not written to extension storage or synced. Browser and operating system download records remain subject to your normal settings.
Information sharing
When you select Find my video, the public post URL is sent over HTTPS to OneDL to provide the requested download. The relevant source platform and video-information providers may receive that public URL. Our service providers include Amazon Web Services, Cloudflare and Webshare for hosting, connectivity, security and retrieving public video information. They may process IP addresses and request information needed to operate and protect the service. Source platforms and these service providers may process request information under their own policies. No browsing cookies are exported to them by this extension.
Retention
Ready video links and temporary files normally expire after ten minutes. Preparation refreshes that period, and deletion waits for active processing or downloads to finish. IP addresses are held briefly in memory for request limits. Hosting, Cloudflare and operational error logs may retain request information under their operational settings. The extension does not create a persistent history of submitted URLs on your device. OneDL separately keeps private activity records of submitted public links, platform, time, processing results and download requests for up to seven days, with a maximum of 50,000 events. Those activity records do not contain visitor IDs, IP addresses, browser cookies or signed media URLs.
Permissions
activeTab: reads the active tab URL only following your toolbar click, to prefill a supported video link. contextMenus: adds a shortcut for supported links. downloads: starts a prepared MP4 download and observes its completion or interruption; the extension never searches your download history. https://onedl.app/*: fetches metadata, preparation status and thumbnails from OneDL. An isolated content script runs only on the listed X/Twitter hosts to identify the post you right-click. No content scripts run on Instagram, TikTok or other sites.
Cookies, advertisements and limited use
The extension does not read or export browser cookies, collect post text, scan your browsing history, run analytics, sell information or include affiliate promotions. On X and Twitter pages, an isolated helper waits for a right-click and reads only the selected post’s permalink from that article. This URL is held briefly in page memory and is returned only when you choose the OneDL context-menu action. It does not scan the feed, transmit anything by itself or collect unrelated page content. Its metadata and thumbnail API requests omit cookies. Chrome itself manages saved-file network requests and may apply normal cookies or security checks. The use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information is used only for the described download function and related service operation, never for personalized advertising or unrelated marketing.
Optional website navigation
If you choose Open on onedl.app, the selected public URL is passed to the corresponding OneDL website page. That page uses normal browser networking and the website privacy policy applies. The website may show its disclosed sponsored referral offers. Visiting it is optional; it is not required by the extension’s built-in download flow.
Your controls
Close the extension tab to discard its in-memory results, or uninstall the extension to remove its installed files. MP4 files already saved on your device are yours to delete. Contact [email protected] with privacy questions. OneDL is independent of the supported platforms. Public availability is not permission to download someone else’s work.
